At the end of April, I went to Carol tried something a little different on me. She did a more intense peel on my face. I actually had some peeling where in the past it has only been mild flaking.
I contacted Carol and after a few questions she determined that this was as expected. Within a couple of days I had beautifully fresh skin! The results are well worth it.
Yesterday I went to see Carol at Solutions Acne & Skin Care. I am more and more excited with my results each time I go! The scarring on my cheek has improved. Although I am told it is deep and may be a slow going process. So anyway, There were a couple of extractions done and we did another peel. I go back in a few weeks to see the progress from here. I still wash my face according the daily regimen that was set up for me and use the products specifically for my skin. All of this in combination has made such a difference! I have lost the cord for my camera, but just as soon as I find it I’ll get pictures up! yay!!
Sorry all! I’ve been a little pre-occupied with some personal business and have been all kinds of slow in updating.
Last time I went to see Carol at Solutions, she was really excited with my progress and decided the time was right to do a peel. I was a little apprehensive, because when i think of a chemical peel i think of being red and blotchy, dry and flaky for DAYS. She really took the time to explain to me what was going to happen, what i should expect and the advancements in the peeling process.
The reason she did a peel on me is I have some discolouration in areas on my face due to deep scar tissue where i have had the same blimish for several years and the inflammation has damaged my skin down deep. She said it could take a few treatments to really get that cleared up. But…We are moving in the right direction! I am thrilled.
So the day of the peel, my face felt firm and tight. Like you washed with soap and had a “squeaky clean” feeling. The next day was fine, I was a little dry and pink around my mouth and chin, but I tend to stay dry in that area. On the 4th day though I was flaky…(my skin, not me, I’m not flaky lol!). But with liberal application of the moisturizing cream for my skin, it was cleared pretty fast.
But all in all I am pleased, the discolouration on the right side of my face appears to already be faded from what it was. Now, I don’t expect to have alabaster skin, for one I am olive toned, but it is a very impressive differece from that first day!!

Sorry it took so long to get this post up.
Well, although my face looks much better than it did at my first meeting with Carol, I hadn’t made a lot of progress since my last visit.
So after evaluating my skin and doing an extraction, she determined that I needed a stronger benzoyl peroxide. After a couple if days I’m pretty sure I can tell there’s been an improvement. My next appointment is this coming Tuesday and we’ll see what Carol thinks.

Well my face is looking much much better! Carol has helped me so much. I had my doubts that anything could make it better. My face isn’t as red and the severity of the blimishes has diminished. I did get a little dry, but she told me how to adjust the way I was using the products to lessen that effect. Here’s a pic so you can compare for yourself!!

Today I went to Solutions Acne & Skin Care in Johnson City to meet with Carol about my face. I want to tell you about my experience.
I was a little nervous about having somebody literally inspect me under a magnifying glass, but she made me feel very comfortable about it all. She asked about my facial cleansing habits, products and make up I use, and then the basic medical history that everyone asks for. She looked at my skin and evaluated it’s condition. I got a hot towel and steam treatment, she cleared some impacted pores (while reminding me not to pick and if I had a bad one to come back and she’d see if she could get it) and then a hydrating mask that left me face feeling soft and refreshed.
She tried a couple of products on my face to see how my skin reacted. Then she picked out the products and routine that she felt would work best for my skin. She was very approchable with questions (which I had a whole bunch of) and was very clear on how the products were to be used.
I was there about one and a half hours. I was sent home with printed instructions and told to call if I had any concerns or questions during my home treatments. I go back in two weeks for a re-evaluation to see how the treatment is coming along and if any adjustments need to be made.

Tomorrow I am going to see a professional about my skin. I have had trouble for years and have gotten it clear once in my life and that didn’t last very long.
I break out all over but it seems worse on my jaw line and it stays itchy. I have used every thing from generics to brand names, medicated and non-medicated and spent lots of money on stuff that may clear me up, but stops working after a couple of months. So, this is a last resort, but hopefully a new beginning!!
Although HORRIBLE pics of me, I took some today to show what my starting point is.
I’ll be keeping a journal of how things go for me, and I hope it will help you too!!
